Social Guerrilla in Sclessin!

Last week the very first Social Light Movement workshop took place in Sclessin, Belgium. The workshop was an amazing success with the participants developing great lighting solutions for several key areas in Sclessin and importantly making a real connection with the local people. The full impact of the workshop looks to continue as the event seems to have triggered a response from local government that is going to take forward the key messages and improve the lighting in the area.

A Guerrilla Lighting event was held on the last night to celebrate the end of the workshop. The guerrillas were made up from local residents and members of LUCI who were in town for the Liege City Under the Microscope (or CUM for those in the know).

It was an great success – everyone who was involved had a fantastic time and, despite a few technical hitches including a rogue floodlight suddenly turned on and a third of the team getting lost on the way to the second site (well it was dark), we were proud of the results. The images even made it to the national newspaper – Le Soir.
