<a href="http://iyangoo.info/" title="" rel="nofollow"></a> Environment and Situation

The most obvious considerations when buying in planning your travel wardrobe are the climate and the milieu when you'll be traveling. Clearly you should pack warm clothes in a trip to a ice cold place, and light, cool clothes to a point that's warm, but there are other -wild card- considerations. Deserts, for example, are hot during your day, but can get very cold at night. Some hot destinations can be prone to sudden rain storms. And depending on where and when you go, you might find the growing season at your destination is totally different from the one you're experiencing in your own home. So a little homework is.

I've just seen the images from my native city of Belfast when you last "attacked" these shores. All I can say is wow... Bring it on this Friday 25th September 2009 when the magic happens all over again..

Thanks for your comment Michael. Apologies for the delayed response.

The approach to design and the skills we use determines the lit effect.

The Guerrilla event is planned and organised very carefully; we make sure each individual luminaire is precisely positioned and aimed to minimise light pollution, glare and skyglow.

Our hand-held torches are charged from the renewable grid and we use low-energy LED light sources as much as possible.

We also try to be sympathetic to the architecture and public spaces. We employ intensities and colours that are compatible with the particular style and use of the buildings and we target only inner-city, non-residential, non-commercial public realm sites.

A wider program of lectures and events runs in concurrence with the event, communicating these principles.

We invite key stakeholders, such as local government officials, city and private architects and engineers as well as members of the public in the hope of engaging them with how things are lit.

Please keep an eye on the blog for any future events near you, where we'd be happy to welcome you along to experience our approach first-hand.

I have a question. How does uplighting buildings, even as a tepmprary demonstration, set a proper example for others to follow in responsible use of lighting? I just don't follow your logic.
